HAUNTING MEMORIES

Haunting Memories

As I sat by my window one night,
the moons rays streaming in so bright.
My thoughts went back to other years,
and my eyes began to fill with tears.
The haunting memories of a life gone wrong,
remembering the fears I had so strong.
Back then I did pray for change,
but felt it was so very far out of range.
I felt abandoned, lost and all alone,
did not think I could ever atone.
I had hit a bottom so dark and grey,
I could not find a reason to stay.
Then in a moment of utter despair ,
I called His name and He was there.
In a burst of transcending spiritual light ,
God reached out and held me tight.
Soothed my hurt and dried my tears,
showed me the way to face my fears.
So I then sank on bended knee,
and asked God first for forgiveness you see.
Then as days passed by and I trusted Him,
I found new joy growing deep within.
My life changed that hot June night,
when I was so full of fear and fight.
Today God is always by my side ,
and never again will I need to hide
