Stray...But Happy Dogs (1) by Susan Morry

I was amazed at how many stray dogs I came across when I travelled in Mexico and the Caribbean. It did make me feel sad at first because I could see that they lived on the street, but then I realized that their “family” were all the store and restaurant owners nearby who alternately fed these sweet souls everyday. There were also many families who lived in the area that were also taking care of them and and who truly loved them. They really did seem well fed and happy as they were always wagging their tales in glee! It’s also always very warm in this country so the only time they’d feel uncomfortable is when it rains but surely they could hide somewhere to avoid getting wet…

This is one of my favourites little guys whom I met in a small town called St. Sebastian, near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He had such beautiful and intelligent eyes, it was as if you could see into his soul…I miss him even now looking at this photo…:>(

What a beautiful dog and what knowing eyes he has…. It’s so sad to see dogs and cats without homes and proper owners…… it’s nice you too this lovely photo of this fellow.

I so love dogs…I think they have little souls. When cared for and loved, they give it back in abundance and they never judge.
Sad to think there are so many strays there, but heart warming to know they are cared for by the community. Thank you for this: you made my day :)

  • Thank you Wayne for such a beautiful comment…Yes…their love is unconditional….I agree they do have little souls…so pure and perfect….You made MY day :>) with such a wonderful comment….
