Cruciform Tree
For the “God’s Signature” challenge.
As soon as I read that there was to be a ‘God’s Signature’ challenge, this tree immediately came to mind. I call it the Cruciform Tree. It is a well-known tree in Malta. it is situated on the main road we refer to as ‘Rabat Road’. People sometimes light a candle or two, or place flowers at this extraordinary tree.
For this picture, I lightened the ‘cruciform’ slightly so it would be more visible. No manipulations to the actual tree at all.
This is a sculpture of nature. To me this truly is God’s signature!

Hi Astrid…Excellent presentation. I’ve known this tree ever since my childhood days (and that’s ages ago!). It used to be featured in a school book printed some 55 years ago. There was also a tree not far from this one with branches resembling an Eagle with half spread wings, but I don’t know what happened to it.

I voted for the to be considered for the October Avatar. I believe that the signature of God should come from nature, not manipulation. You have brought this out to the forefront wonderfully. At first, I thought it was done by a saw master, as a form of chainsaw art. But, after deep observation I realized it was a unity between the tree and nature. Deeply moving.

Hello Sarai. This is the natural look of the tree. As amazing as it may seem it really is real! In fact local people light candles and place flowers at its base.
