When I took the original shot that I used for this image, I had no idea that it would come out looking like “TWO COURTING BIRDS”, when I got finished with it. I always use my Canon EOS 60D digital camera with the Canon 18mm-135mm lens. Sometimes I switch to my Canon 75mm-300mm in order to get out and touch an image. To tell you the truth, I don’t remember what the original image was to get to this image. But, I thought it looked cool anyway, so I decided to post it onto my bubble site. I do know that the original shot was taken in my home town of Vacaville, California in the United States of America. The shot that I started with, got well hidden in the final image that you now see. The only filter I used for this shot was the Polar Coradinates filter. However, I did use it many many times. If an image strikes my fancy, I will sometimes push that filter to it’s very most extreme point. Then, in the middle of it all, I’ll do something like turn the image upside down or side to side and start all over again with the Polar Coradinates filter. You just never know what you can come up with when it comes to digital photography and the digital dark room.

Well, I don’t know how you did this, Bob, but it looks beautiful! Reminds me of native art.

  • Thank you Ellen. Glad you like it. It came about from a lot of Polar Coordinate filter changes. You can take just about any image and end up with something like this, if you change the filter enough times. lol

Great to see you back on RB Bob, How are you keeping. ? Cheers Neil

  • Thanks Neil, I’m a little bit off my nut lately. My Mom’s alzheimer’s is about to do me in I think. I don’t have a brother or sister in law or nephew, just 12 miles away, that want to come over, let alone help with my mom. It is hard being the only one in the family that has to watch my mom die a little bit more each day. I’m affraid I’m going to succombe to her alzheimers before it’s all over. I sure as hell don’t want to be my town’s next murder suicide victim. That’s not the way I want to get my 15 minutes. Hope you are doing OK. Have a great day Neil. Hope this isn’t too heavy. Bob :)

    Hi Bob
I’m sorry things aren’t any better and you are getting no help from your sister etc. It was my sisters that looked after my mum in the same condition as I live 360 miles away. Since my mum died in 2010 at 95 years old one sister partners died and my youngest sister died last year and her husband died 2 moths ago. You just don’t know what’s around the corner. Stay strong my friend, Regards Neil

  • Thanks Neil, I’m trying my best. On Sept. 20, 2012, I drove for 1 hour and 12 minutes, from 4 am until 5 12 am, in order to get a good spot for taking shots of the space shuttle on her last flight around the bay. I stood on top of the Marin Headlands for 8 hours and then drove home for that last 1 hour and 12 minutes. On Saturday, I couldn’t get out of bed. Litterally, I was so soar and in pain, my meds didn’t do much good. I’m a little better today, as long as I wear my back brace. However, a few of the shots I got of the shuttle made it all worth the pain. I’m about to load several shots of it today, I hope you like them. Thanks Neil my friend. Bob :)

    Congratulations – 19/1/2013 – Shirley

  • Thank you Shirley for this nice feature. I’m sorry for taking so long to get back to you, but I’ve been off the computer for some time now. I didn’t realize that it’s been an entire year though, well almost. Hope you are doing fine this holiday season and are looking forward to another new year. Bob :)
