The most personal piece I have ever done..I think. This is my Nan and my son, who was a week old at the time. There wasnt much difference in time from his birth to her death, hence the title. Ive had this photograph for over 9 years now and its the only image I have of them together, I have always planned to do this as a drawing as the light/dark effect hold loads of symbolism (i.m.o). As work goes this is probably one of only a handful of pieces ive ever completed with intention to keep for myself. Ive never spent as long on any drawing before.
