Kim Throneberry is a twentysomething mixed media artist who grew up in a small town in the south, moved north to a big city, and now resides once again in a small town. Her love for the various forms of both noise and calm each environment provides manifests in her art. At times overly sentimental and a lover of words, she enjoys combining pages of vintage books with collected and meticulously cut out pieces of ephemera alongside juvenile sketches and doodles. Her lifelong struggle with wanderlust versus her love for familiarity and planting roots, as well as other typical trappings of the quarter-life crisis are explored in her work, often through nautical and nature themes. She attempts to capsulize the chaotic feelings of being not-so-young, but-still-not-old and lost in limbo through the fusion of various medias culminating to create a solid whole. She is a former film student, current avid at-home baker and lover.
