I am most proud to say that this image I had the great fortune of capturing, was chosen as a Top Ten image from over 2000 entries with Our State Magazine.

I quite literally froze to an almost icecicle state while waiting for gale force winds to form and drive this very apocolyptic cloud bank over the quaint town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

The sheer mass of this billowy bank, hovering so menacingly above the brilliantly autumn bedecked valley below really drove home the point of just how fragile and vulnerable life can be.

  • Hi Paul, Thanks so much! I can’t get enough of this place and really enjoy going up there. It is so peaceful and you just never know what you’ll find there.
