    Stephen,

I’ve always thought colors were more pronounced after a rain. I’m not sure if it’d just rained in this picture or not, but the colors have that same sort of vibrancy. The photo also has a small town feel, with the bike and the potted plants.

  • Stephen Maxwell replied

Hi Louise, There has been selective colouring, or if you like selective B&W, in the image which may give it the look you comment on. It is a small village with one street, developers are moving in around the village but the integrity of the original village remains intact. Thank you. Stephen

    Interesting use of color.

  • Stephen Maxwell replied

The houses are whitewashed so the selective colouring really only affected the windows and guttering, which were the same colour as the doors – and of course the flowers.

Lovely, typical Irish scene. I especially like the clarity of details. This goes immediately into my collection of favorites. Wonderful work. I hope that you enjoy viewing my portfolio as much as I enjoyed viewing yours.

  • Stephen Maxwell replied

Thank you Wildwings – and indeed I did!

This is just wonderful. It makes it onto my list of places I want to visit in this lifetime. An outstanding capture.

  • Stephen Maxwell replied

Thank you. A worthwhile aspiration, although there is a ‘creep’ of development in the surrounding area and on the outskirts of the village. There is a waterfall close-by which is a good location to visit as well.
