Feedback sought on new webpage
I’ve made a second attempt to start a clean, simple webpage to link directly to my bubble site. I would appreciate any advice, feedback or ideas:
http://sdsmartphotography.blogspot.com/
At moment it’s hosted at blogspot. I may look at paying for a short domain name in the future. I have hosted the thumbnail images on Photobucket which enlarge to the redbubble sized images. I’ve only added 15 images so far and it will limit the front page to the most recent 15 images as I continue to add them.
My only concern so far is there is no ‘clear gif’ or right click protection and its way too easy to save a copy of the larger images…Any ideas?
Thanks
Shane

Looks great to me , I may be coming to you for advice if I set one up somewhere. I would have put your name or the Tags in red to give the general page more excitement, but that’s really minor. As for the Download hack issue I guess the only thing you can do is like on Red Bubble use smartphoto as a watermark, cheers my friend it really is a hot page!

Thanks Mic – At the bottom of my site I have left the link to the designer of the free template. I have changed it a little but I couldn’t have done it without the template.

I’ve avoided using too much colour as I want to draw attention to the birght red link to redbubble. The goal is to get people to the bubblesite and generate some sales…

If someone wants to get something they will, “print screen” is one way and there is no way to stop it. I wouldn’t worry much about it. That being said, this looks incredibly awesome! You used Blogger to do that?? Call me impressed!

Thanks John – I still get annoyed at image theft. One of my images, Lonely Jetty has taken a thrashing on google…

I think it looks fine – I’d always keep the pages ‘clean’ of un-important stuff (which you have). It looks good with the black background – classy I’d say. Navigation is an important thing – needs to be quick and easy – not too many clicks to buy something.
I wouldn’t worry about the ‘clear gif’ thing – there are ways round them anyway (print screen like John said, but doing a selective ‘screen shot’ on a Mac is another easier way… there are others…) I can uderstand you being pissed that someone has “thrashed” your images but that’s the web I’m affraid – it’ll always happen.

Just on the point of print screen, check out www.progalleries.com.au, I’m pretty sure I can’t print screen from there.
The site looks good, nice and clean. Would having less images on the homepage make it stand out more? Only a suggestion.

I checked the progalleries site. It has disabled right click but theres no way to stop hitting the print screen button and pasting into photoshop…
I agree that less images may have more impact… I don’t know if there is any easy way to change it though.
