The title just felt right, looking at it.
I took this through a hand-held tiny “Instamatic” lens which I found in my loft. It was an auxiliary wide-angle lens which, with my lens at full zoom, could just about not leave a large black circle around everything. The benefit was that, if I held it in front of my lens, I could get closer to objects than normal (5 cm in this case as opposed to 18 cm usually) and so could take macro pictures, like this. The lens also significantly reduced depth of field as well, making focussing really difficult (and impossible with auto-focus).
Taken in my garden, a place which looks so much nicer through a viewfinder.
