Born in London, grew up in Perth, Western Australia, now living in Sydney.
I have always loved photography but only started to take it as seriously as I now do around 2008.
Mostly, my pics are animals and urban scenes, but really I will make a photo of anything that I deem suitable; because, I love variety and making different images.

oooh i love yr work smallfox, specially the industrial and city shots… we’ve fotographed the same spots i see… round newtown, there’s some great stuff to see in the streets of this city eh?

  • Thank you. You live around Newtown? Actually, I find Newtown a difficult subject, partly because all of the cars that get in the way; also because everything’s quite packed in and getting the desired angle can be difficult to impossible. But there is certainly character here.

yes, it can be very squishy around there to get a good shot… but worth it when you do… i tend to wander the back lanes mostly. i haven’t seen that rusty building in king street is it still there?

  • Yes. On the right in the laneway off of Church St, just behind King St.

cool, i’ll check it out sometime. the old train sheds behind newtown station are kinda fascinating… i think they’ll demolish that building soon(er or later)… i’ve shot the outside… would be good to get inside before they do for some spooky skeletal fotos…!

  • I’ve been inside – rather spooky because it feels like it’s going to fall down around you. Click here and here for a couple of views. Last I looked you couldn’t get in – before the gate had a big gap at the bottom that I crawled through, but it does feel very dangerous in there, especially when the wind shakes the broken windows above.

yeah i thought it might feel like that, but i think that’s what excites me, the dilapidation and impending danger! hheehe. thanx for the links, i’ll have a look soon.

The different shades and degree of rust are great. It was once fashionable, or the latest in design.

  • I hadn’t thought of this building being fashionable, though maybe it was.
