Sundrop

The same puddle as in O Fortuity. A rain drop fell as I took the picture. Cleaned up on GIMP and border added from PhotoFiltre. Puddle on Church Street, Newtown. I love the rain!

Another good one. Looks totally fabricated, but the fact that is is captured from life is important and makes it stronger. There is magic in the real world.

I’m becoming almost adept at finding reflections, even when I don’t have my camera. Puddles are excellent. And I agree that being an actual photo andnot a digital creation makes it more interesting.

Another great capture! treatment you’ve used gives it that kinda industrial feel, I like it.

  • smallfox replied

Thanks. Actually not that much treatment, just an adjustment in light values and a border. Not photshop but a real life.

There’s something…. not of this earth about this photograph for me. Like a world none of us know… but you’ve caught a glimpse of. A mystery.

Wow! Thank you, foxy! I love your take on this. Such a wonderful thing to say.

    I love unconspicuous ponds…
    so dark and humble…
but a sheet of water is there…
    receptive and feminine.
    And the sun…
    oh….seems to vanish,
    with pride.
    The ripples are miraculous…
    same as the birdie…
    think that you have contemplated
    a God’s window.

A good reflection is sometimes better than what it reflects – it transforms the image and seems to open a new angle on the world – a portal.
