O Fortuity

As I was taking this photo a pigeon flew into shot in the refelction in the puddle. I couldn’t have asked for better. This picture was cleaned up using GIMP and the border added using PhotoFiltre. The shot was on macro setting but long focus.

    Powerful work!

Oh, thank you, mare. Powerful? I suppose it does have some power – in miniature.

It actually looks like a bat!

  • smallfox replied

The only problem I see with the picture is that if you don’t know what it is it doesn’t look much like anything. But a bat, yes, I can see that. Maybe I should just say it is a bat. We have big flying foxes here.

Its moments like these shots that make you chase the next… it reminds me of when i was a child, i’d stare into the puddles to see the reflection, and the longer i’d stare, the more it would turn into another world where the ground would just disappear! Awesome shot :)

  • smallfox replied

Yes. Do you ever look into rippling water and focus only on the light so that all you see is the light dancing?

This pic is fantastic! As strange as it might sound, I think this would make a great CD cover.

  • smallfox replied

Thanks, Karen! That’s not a strange idea at all – I can see it.
