great capture, good lightning…
smallfox replied
Thank you. Actually, the original lighting wasn’t all that good. I had to do a bit of work with brightness, contrast and gamma to get this.

My old stomping ground! Great image…I can hear and smell King Street from here 900k’s away. Fantastic, dirty black and white.
smallfox replied
Thanks. Do you ever miss the place or are you glad to be away from it?
Natsky
It was almost 10 years ago since I lived there and apparently it has changed a lot. I really enjoyed the alternative diversity and the grungy realness of the place, so maybe I miss something that no longer exists. Having said that, I don’t think I will be leaving my current community of diverse people, lifestyles and surroundings…and I really enjoy the fresh air that I breathe now!
smallfox replied
There is still the alternative presence, but Newtown is more upmarket these days. Still, it is not a bad place, by any stretch, though it is more expensive. I wouldn’t mind the fresh air, myself.

This is so very good Paul! Love it! Has a real feel to it, if that makes sense!! I know what I mean! What is also amazing is that Ian Moss is still singing! Fantastic capture and processing! :-)
smallfox replied
Thank you, Russell. Someone I know saw it here and thought it was Ron Moss, the guy who plays Ridge in Bold and the Beautiful!! Ha!!

street shot are like fingerprints. no two ever the same. b+w suits street work well. great shot.
smallfox replied
Thanks! I agree about streets in b&w. They’re not so easy because people do move around a lot and often spoil the composition – so thoughtless of them.
hsien-ku
great street shot – she has a crazy dress!
smallfox replied
Thanks, hk!! The dress really adds that extra element in this photo – I’m glad I got her before she escaped out of view! Very 60s.
Cathy Walker
love this shot, Ian Moss poster sets the scene
smallfox replied
Thanks, Cathy! It’s really the only good street scene I’ve managed to get – people are so motile and often spoil the composition by moving about! (The cheek!)
Antanas
great capture….....
smallfox replied
Thank you, Antanas…!
Richard Murch
.. Outstanding …. the vintage looks is great here..
smallfox replied
Thank you…that dress has a lot to do with that, I think.
