A great perspective of the bridge. Wonderful shot! Love the b&w work with all of its textures, and the bridge so faint in the centre but background
smallfox replied
Thank you. It is the favourite of others on RB and I’m quite pleased with the result.

G’day SF,
I find this very fine B&W photograph to be a refreshing and exciting take on this great Aussie icon.
The concept, approach, composition and presentation are extremely good and demonstrate your creativity.
The image has an incredible depth of field, a very sharp focus, very well controlled contrast and highlights and an exceptional tonal range.
This photograph is head and shoulders above the norm and has a strong impact.
It holds the interest exceedingly well, it beggars further investigation and it is one to which I shall return for sure!

Thank you for the best comment I’ve ever had! It was my good fortune to be in the right place at the right time. Being such a large and central object it will always offer new views.
Jeff Stroud
it is a very interesting view… why did you not focus on the bridge rather than the street?
even through the eye goes there…
smallfox replied
Well, I can’t put it al down to intention but I think that with the bridge everso slightly out of focus it gives it a potential, something looming. This photo was just another photo to begin with but it’s teaching me a lot, along with my dear bubblers who point things out to me that make me think in ways that I hadn’t before. I think that the bridge seems to be almost composed of light in this way.
Jeff Stroud
Yes, I see that! Thank you for your reply!

Beautifully done – this is how it is in Sydney, a pretty normal street – look down the edge and then whammo there she is….
smallfox replied
Thanks. That was how I found this view, just wandering the streets (not as bad as that sounds)
Lynn Stratton
Absolutely fabulous! The tones are perfect and i love the perspective.

Looks like 2 architectural styles,,,traditional and contemporary,,,on opposite sides of the street,,,with the Bridge linking them. (Don’t mind me Dear,,,I’m an eccentric who looks for symbolism in every day things.) Excellent work.
smallfox replied
You’re quite right although I hadn’t thought of it in that way. This pic is repeatedly throwing out surprises to me, the different ways it can be seen. Thank you!
J.K. York
i think you zoning of light densities here really has a great impact on how the eye travels through this image. you are correct that iconic structures can be seen in new ways if we only try. very well done. cheers.
smallfox replied
The eye is drawn to the bridge which seems almost ephemeral, it is so light, even misty. I think you’re right about light zones. Thank you J.K.!
Melinda Gaal
Beautiful!
