A beautiful, young, female moose just standing in what is her “heaven”…a grove of birch trees!

Beautiful setting and wonderful capture.
Thank you very much! She was a pretty gal! :) Thanks for making this a fave, also! :)
What a great find!!! Great shot!!
Thank you very much! I was lucky to have her hang around for a number of days. :)
Lovely capture!19 January 2011 … one image a day
Thank you very much! :)
Enchanting image – they are so homely and yet empathetic. Nice setting and capture.
Thanks so much for your kind words! Much appreciated! :)
Excellent capture, i know how hard it is to get this close to them!!
Thank you very much. She allowed me to get pretty close. I probably could have pet her if I wanted to, but didn’t quite dare. I think she had just gotten booted from mom. Her being so young and feeling alone worked to my advantage. She stuck around for days! :)
I love moose. This is lovely! I find the moose around my property get spooked easily. I’ve seen them only a handful of times, but each sighting feels like a precious gift.
Thanks! She surely was a gift to watch every day! This is the same moose as the other you commented on. We don’t have a whole lot of them in this area, but they are becoming more and more prevalent. I am convinced that when I first spotted her, her mom had just booted her to give birth to another, and she was lonely. She stuck around farm areas where there were cows and oxen and seemed to fit right in. It was kind of sad, actually, to think that she was so bonded with her mom only to be kicked to the curb for a sibling…but that’s the way they do. People were petting her and she really seemed to like the attention…I wish they hadn’t as I’m fearful that humanizing a wild animal NEVER does the animal any good, and only sets them up for bad situations. Hopefully, she moved on and now has offspring of her own. Thanks for your comments – All of them! :)
Thank you! This is one of my personal favorite pictures that I’ve taken. I’m glad it is finally featured! lol
