A bunch of poppies placed near the ‘basket handles’ that mark the start of the road leading up to the shrine. There is a basket handle on either side of the road, arching far above, acknowledging how Australia and New Zealand have fought side by side, working and sacrificing to ensure our freedom and safety.
This bunch of poppies, to me, is symbolic of times gone by… ‘faded’ memories… But the bright red ensures that we will not forget.
