As a photographer on a mission to explore the design of social identity, I’ve cultivated an ensemble of portraits that conceal the subject’s face. This questions how physical attributes account for perceptions of who they are. Deliberately contrived tableaus and the use of costumes and props help push a cinematic aesthetic while carrying a single, fleeting narrative through each portrait.
