Grass flowers in super macro super close with filters for effect.
The paddock is full of perennial grasses and the flowers will often shimmer under the afternoon sun. They’re always so well textured and when motionless (which is almost never) you can get in very close.
It just makes me happy to be as close as I can to a subject and then click the shutter down – the world stops for seconds while you hold your breath so you don’t shake the camera. the pain in your knees and elbows as you balance yourself – perched in an awkward over-balanced near prone position.
But – you’re happy… because at that point, nothing else matters but that one shot… and that’s it. The world has truly stopped!
