Began growing about 10 months ago, this beautiful passionfruit vine has crept over the shade area and under the eaves of the house.

A remarkable plant. It makes me happy to see it every day :)

Photo taken under natural light conditions, with no colour added.

Grown in my backyard from a seed, from a friend’s passionfruit that she gave me – and what’s more, for those interested, it’s grown in a tub and it’s over 3 metres tall and easily that wide, bushy, and flowering :)

We’re going to be sucking back on some passionfruit very soon!

PS – this could be the last photos you see from my Olympus e500 as it has become seriously ill. If you wish to help replace the e500 with a newer e30 please buy these works :)

A very nice macro ! Great colours and abstract forms. A huge plant too, it must love the conditions.

  • Thanks James!!! I think the big wet has fed it continually… And it hasn’t been scolded by the hot sun… I can’t wait to eat the fruit off it, it’s the bright purple with bright yellow pulp in it.. Oh, I love passionfruit!

We have a passionfruit vine in our yard too, they’re fabulous :) I’m in love with these curls, I’ve been taking tons, hehe.

Great shot! Love the composition :)

  • Oh yes – I am seeing a few of yours too :) they’re awesome fun to catch – I think I will do this all over again when the new camera arrives and there’s even more light :)

Sounds great! You can’t really get sick of taking them, every one is a bit different to the next. They’re even better when they’ve caught some water :P

  • And we’ve had plenty of that lately :) I thought the contrast was a dry shot hehe… I have big plans for these little curls :) What I love about them is they look awesome unedited. No need to even crop, they fit perfectly into the picture frame. And they don’t move too much in the wind (and it was blowing a breeze when I took this this morning). I didn’t use a tripod this time, but I think I will get even more perspectives when I use a tripod next time :) Thanks for the comment :)
