Web of Intrigue

After the heavy rains, a sheltered, but tattered spiders’ web remains.

The rains that have brought widespread flooding to over 62% of Queensland this February (09) will always be remembered – and it’s not over yet. Even as I write this more rain is forecast for a country that is seeing extreme to extreme – heat waves and bush fires, drought to flood – all up one coast of this massive, unique and contrasting country.

While there is devastation, there’s always beauty that shall emerge.

Thanks Helen, it probably wasn’t irregular when it first started, it became very irregular after the intense rains we’ve had. Thanks for a wonderful comment :) (more smiles)

This a very pleasing image. Your comments are especially helpful and enlightening for those of us in the northern hemisphere. I think I can speak for all of the people I know in the States; our hearts truly go out to all of the Australians affected by the recent floods and fires.

Absolutely gorgeous capture, the clarity is really stunning. I love web shots but can never seem to find any good webs around here.

  • Paul Davis replied

You have to harvest your spiders :) I also love webs, not always a fan of their occupants though. But I think this was a lucky one – was pleased to find it nearly un-touched. Thanks for the compliment – it’s wonderful to hear :)
