Hi Everybody,
Originally from the North East of England, yep I’m a Geordie.
I’m a self taught amateur photographer and I’ve been taking photographs since the 70’s, and I’ve been around since 1956, (and going gray as I type !)
Started with a cheap Chinon (remember them ?) and now use Nikon D-SLR’s. – A D50 and my new baby, a D300 which is wonderful.
I always said I wouldn’t go digital but now total convert. Just love the flexibility and being in control of the processing of the photographs , still learning how to use Photoshop though. My mistakes make quite interesting viewing !
Favourite places for taking photos are New York, Rome, the English countryside and my cats!.
My job involves driving hgv’s around the UK so ample time to take photo’s of various places and scenes. ( except I work at night !) My favourite subject to photograph is landscape although I do take various other shots as you can see in my profile and have a sick sense of humour so be warned.
Huge fan of the master photographer Ansel Adams.
I like nothing more than being out with my camera, time and wife permitting. The only problem is I spend most of my time working on photographs I’ve taken. In fact I spend more time taking, scanning and editing photographs than is good for me or so Jane tells me. But at least it keeps me quiet and out of the way.Mind you she is my biggest fan of my “snaps”
Anyway, enjoy my photographs and please comment.
