A nature lover all my life….a photographer from age 12. Eariy inspirations from cowboy movies at the Saturday matinees. Often shot in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, these horse operas were the vehicle for some of the world’s greatest landscape photographers.They moved me to seek out similar scenes on our boyhood adventures. Years later Bruce Brown’s “The Endless Summer” would widen our horizons. Since I’ve settled here the majority of my images have been of Hawaii but last year we discovered another photographer’s paradise. The Bavarian Alps. The previous year we discovered the equally beautiful light of New Zealand’s Southern Alps.
