Superb dark palomino quarter horse. Standing at stud here in Melbourne, this gentle 16hh stallion is a descendant of two of the American quarter horses’ greatest foundation sires, “Wimpy” & “Leo”.

Cool pic S!Do you remember a bloke around that area back in the late 70s called Reg Wooster? He had a spotted pony stallion…can’t remember his name (the pony) but Reg was a mate of my dad :))
before my time as an Aussie! Noel probably knew him though, because as well as founding the Aust Appaloosa Assn he was instrumental in the creation of the Palouse Pony studbook … I have the best-est teacher :)
I just remember my dad pointing out his ads in the Australian Western Horseman magazines…wish I had of kept those!! But I was 14 and didnt think :P
I believe Noel donated some of his copies to me :) I remember just after I moved to Aust in 1987 seeing a pic of Colida’s Lad & thinking what an outstanding horse he was – funny, but back then I was an Arabian lover & never dreamt I’d own 2 granddaughters in future years
Love to see a photo in the sun. Pally’s are my favourite!
I’m working on it Helen, but the stallions have limited outdoor space during breeding season (too many mares with foals in the house paddocks to visit with the boys!)
What a view. Nice looking stud and excellent bloodlines. Nice capture.
he sure is a excellent example of the Quarter Horse & his bloodlines are pure gold too – glad you like him :)
…doesn’t look very wimpy to me! Beautiful!
oh but he is Marita, the most gentle stallion I’ve ever met, just love him to bits (wish he was MINE)
Great bloodlines, one of my mares traces back to Leo. This fella is lovely, I have seen his pics in the stallion books.
my older palomino mare is his daughter, I was determined that I wanted the “Leo” bloodline when I was looking to breed my first foal & was thrilled when I found Wimpy at the property my mare was moving to – fate :) He is also the sire of Elle, Bert & Tex
Looks like a real stunner! Love to see more pics.. :)
I don’t often get a chance to capture this guy with camera, but I have a few shots I want to add soon so keep an eye out – he’s a gorgeous metallic/bronze palomino & on a sunny day he fairly glows

Well thank you so much, this is my FAVOURITE stallion & a real gentleman
You are so very welcome skyhorse
Never seen a colour quite like that….what a beauty and not too many 16hh quarter horses I know that. I trained and rode a few in America for a lovely lady who’s grey QH mare was 16hh….what a joy she was to ride and a great Champion too…brings back some really fond memories for me
they like big QHs here in Australia – we are still checking colour genetic sites to try & find something that matches this fellow LOL
