Being born is tiring work ...

All tuckered out after standing for a few hours & suckling off mum, poor wee girl needs a lie-down!

I’m very lucky that my mares are so used to me being in their space, even though they pull threatening faces at me they never actually back it up by charging at me, rather they move away in a huff (beware to strangers though, they’d be shown teeth & heels up close!)

    Great capture …

I had to sneak up between mum & foal to get the angle – too cute to miss it though, so worth the risk of angry mother

She’s gorgeous. They are so cute and gangly when they are very young.

  • skyhorse replied

Yeah, the teeter-totter effect & not knowing how to bend them to lie down is sooo funny to see while they work out where everything is meant to be

    Wonderful, love those legs!

  • skyhorse replied

Why is it that every foal i breed is taller than the previous one? These are just soooo long! Oh, the other leopard mare foaled last night & also had a grulla filly (but without spots, whoops!)
