when she comes to his senses

through the dimensionless
mists of cyberspace,
touching his heart, his soul

glows with excitement,
satisfying, for the moment,
that sweet, desperate craving

he has to be with her…
and yet, he tries to imagine
what she would think

if she ever saw him up close,
in person—it makes him fear
what she might say and do

when she comes to her senses.

Hi Skip, to me this is so very sad….the way people are so worried about what other people may think and feel about the way they look. So much importance is put on looks that it is very scary. Surely it is about the heart…what is inside…that really, really matters when all is said and done! Short, powerful, sad and very well put. Makes my heart ache because I lost someone who refused to meet me because of what I might think….thanks for sharing, it so real. x

I’ve heard many stories about people unhappy with the drabness and tedium they see in their own lives. They become like two stars spinning into each other when galaxies collide, wondering which, if either of them, will survive the impact of reality. Ultimately, they cut and run. Sad.

Although I can relate to what you have put down Skip, I also agree with Astoreth! ........... its whats inside your soul …................ that is the best model to be judged on! Short and powerful words again from such a good Artist! Thanks Skip! – David :>))

Thanks David. I’m not sure I wouldn’t post an old photo and an embellished bio if I met a fascinating woman on line. Who would be interested in an ordinary, flawed person like me? Sadly, that’s the way many of us think. I wonder why we can’t value and trust who we really are in our soul of souls.

It is true that we take in a person more with our eyes than our heart…..if we open ourselves up to another human and expose ourselves with the expectations of a ‘love’ relationship…..it does then hinge on the energy of the two when they meet. Sad but true…..I still don’t know what I would call this energy….but the heart will not listen it seems if the energies don’t compliment.
