Shaman's Brew
Although a dozen copas of Mate de Coca got me through severe headache and malaise, the Peruvian altitude had nearly sucked the life out of me and I decided the Amazonian steam might better suite my constitution.
I’d read of William Burrough’s Ayahuasca and thought maybe I’d snoop around the last jungle outpost of Iquitos for a guide to take me into the Amazon interior to meet a”qualified” Sh…
Skip Hunt's Mexico: Artist Reception ~ Austin, Texas ~ May 9th, 7-9PM
Stop by and check out the fresh photography by Skip Hunt at House Wine!
This collection is from my recent motorcycle journey in Jan/Feb of 2009. I was reading Edward Weston’s Mexico: Daybooks on the trip and decided to shoot mostly black and white. Digital yes, but set as b/w and not raw… so there would ONLY be black/white versions. It was an interesting exercise for me and am quite happy …
Follow, follow, follow, follow… follow the yellow brick road.

In Mexico Again
Hi,
Left for Mexico at the beginning of January on the motorcycle. Been mostly sending updates from the road via my iPhone’s Facebook app and WiFi when I can find it. Uploaded some fresh black and white images from this trip and a bunch of panoramics via the iPhone cam and a Pano app.
In Xilitla, Mexico at the moment but heading back into the desert in a few days. Will be back in Texas b…
Racism in America
Been in Guatemala for about 10 days. Very surreal scenario that took me there. And many surreal experiences while shooting as well.
However, one of the most surprising and scary experiences happened while waiting for a return flight in the Ft. Lauderdale airport… they were playing that clip of McCain taking the mic away from that lady who said Obama was an Arab..etc. (does anyone think th…
Pere Lachaise cemetery
I just read someone mention the Pere Lachaise. This time of year always brings back a memory of a very strange experience I had a few years ago in the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris where Jim Morrison is buried.
I’d just finished a loop starting in Lisbon, Portugal that took me up into Spain.. up into South France… back down into Spain… and completed a circle crossing from Seville to Ta…
September Shows
Hey Everybody!
Sorry, I haven’t had an update in awhile. Been busy stopping smoking, etc. At 18 days so far!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Cold Turkey baby! And a big thanks for the patience to anyone who’s had the great misfortune of having to interface with me over the first couple of weeks of stopping smoking and listen to me go bananas and smacking multiple pieces of chewing gum. ;-)
In the meantime…..
Almost 48hrs.
Still smokeless… but this is hard. Very angry in general. Can’t concentrate. Chest congestion. Operating on a hair-trigger, so trying to avoid contact with people. Was fine this morning, though I had trouble sleeping, and got up at 4:30am. Went to see a movie to ride out a couple hours where you can’t smoke…. and all the freakin’ actors were smoking… arghhhhh!!!
Ok… better go hide ou…
The Pusher Man
Ok… I just have to share this. A few of my friends had a little get-together for me tonight in honor of my now birthday. They know I was stopping smoking at 11:59pm. My friend has an AWESOME and very LOUD stereo system. High-end stuff…. of the $30k variety. I told him that I wanted to hear Steppenwolf’s tune “The Pusher Man” at the highest volume his system could pump out. He said we’d play…
