“At what point do you cut and run? I was so Hell bent & committed to making good distance away from Puerto Vallarta before I slipped into even more days of lazy balmy leisure… that I just kept telling myself that the black cloud mass would just “burn off” like JR speculate…

Puerto Vallarta: Je Ne Sais Quois

Posted 2 months ago

For those interested… just updated my Skip Hunt Vagabond travel blog with fresh text and photos from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

“Tenacatita bay proved to be lovely, but the heat had already risen to that level you get to in the summer where all is salty haze. I pulled off the main road the wound to the beach and a couple two or three nice bays. Given the signage and boat packages going to thi…

Barra de Navidad: Tiempo Tranquilo

Posted 2 months ago

Just added fresh photos and text from Barra de Navidad. :-)

“Everything all the way up to checking out and saying “adios” was pleasant at the Hotel del Centro! Didn’t really matter to me what else they do there to keep the doors open. If I’ve ever in Guadalajara on a budget again, I will definitely be heading right back there. Friendly all the way up to the end and again, soooooo clean!

Guadalajara: Un Cuarto Limpio

Posted 2 months ago

Just added fresh photos, text, and video from Guadalajara!

“Getting out of Toluca was a little bit of a challenge. I just can’t seem to get the logic of the Mexican highway signs. That’s assuming of course that there is any such logic. I’m perpetually following a sign that’s telling me “This way to go to this such and such highway or city…”… everything seems to be going smoothly. I’m watchin…

I know they were all signifying a shack selling small wood carved and painted animals, but …

“San Jose del Pacifico: Oscuro

Lugged all my gear back down three flights of stairs and repacked the bike in already sweltering temps. I just kept telling myself that it’d be good to be completely drenched in sweat before taking off because it’d be cooler once I got up to speed. Not so. I was just hot and wet. ;-)

Rode from Toluca to Guadalajara and holed up in a Brothel

Posted 3 months ago

Hi,

Enjoyed a few nights in Toluca, then rode to Ciudad Hidalgo to do the road through the mountains to Morelia. The ride was nice, but not as dramatic as many others I´ve been on in Mexico this trip, so I didn´t even stop to take pix. Was doing 120mph on the Autopista from Morelia toward Guadalajara and stopped for gas. Was about to start blazing back down the autopista when a French dude a…
