I think they tore all of this down to make a sterile concrete plaza the city officials thought would draw more tourists. Sort of like an office plaza in the U.S. Shame, isn’t it?

thanks! Much of Antigua looks like this.. but the city officials keep wanting to tear it all down and make strip malls like the US. :-(
