My first attempt at TtV using an old Argus 75. I thought I’d better start playing with this technique since purchasing the Argus on eBay back in November last year.

My 14yo daughter’s selection for the week. Reading is something she gets great enjoyment besides chatting to her friends on-line.

I’m sure the old camera is happy to be in use once again…they have feeling too you know. lol
I like the softness of the edges in this shot…kudos Lorraine!

  • Thanks Von…I’m sure these old things have feelings…not yet time for retirement. I mean to say, it’s only 60 yo.

This is awesome!! What does ttv stand for?

  • TtV stands for Through the Viewfinder. I have to set up my Canon so that it looks down at the image that the Argus has in it’s viewfinder. Something else for you to try Jan!!!

I thought so – TTL is through the lens so I gathered it was viewfinder…. not a clue how it works though! hahahaha but this image is awesome cool!

this looks like a fun thing to play with Lorraine – like the closeness and blurring on edges..very cool!

  • It is fun Louise. I also like the way everything is in mirror reverse.

    woooo! Finally!
This is a great ttv still life, always good to start with Lorraine. It’s funny how everything is in reverse. I sometimes flip my images in gimp.
Great that your daughter loves to read, I worry that kids these days may miss the tactile experience of reading a book.

  • Yes it is about time…lol

It’s cold here and didn’t want to do all that trialing outside in the weather. Still life is good…and warm.

I thought about flipping the image but I thought it might be cool to see it the way the camera sees it. Make the viewer work a bit harder.

Love this! And I like the reverse image… makes your brain work a bit…lol!

  • Thanks. I was actually wondering if I should flip the image as I thought it might be a bit off-putting to the viewer…maybe I should leave it the way it is. :-)

Fascinating look and process. I’m just curious about the titles abd authos and what a 14-year old might read these days. But I do like seeing the books backward.
