It was suggested by Karen that I try a mono of my original shot. I started from scratch and converted to B & W.

And FANTASTIC in b&w Lorraine! Perfect! (maybe you could try SC too? Being that you are in a creative mood today!) I love the glint in his other eye!! Almost David Bowie style!!!

  • Jon really likes this version.

this is a gorgeous portrait Lorraine..no wonder Jon is happy with it! Beautiful work…love it in BW :)

  • The original started off as a journey into cross-processing. Funny how things turn out. I’m much happier also with this version.

I love this version, gorgeous young fella!

  • Thanks Sylvia. He’s a great kid. Very cheeky and I guess ‘typical’ of most 16yr olds.

Oh my gosh this is absolutely wonderful, Lorraine! Not only because he is a gorgeous young man, but also because the lighting, the contrast and the pose all work together perfectly! I love it in B&W! Be proud of this!

  • Thanks so much for the lovely comment Nancy. I was pleased also with the lighting. I relied on the light coming through the window. Sometimes, it just works so well.

this is an excellent portrait – I love it in b/w – he is quite handsome…

  • Thanks Kimmie. I don’t think I’ll show him all these comments. I think he might be a little embaressed. xox

Lorraine, I wish I could learn to do portraits like this. Studio quality! And what a beautiful face Jon has! I know males aren’t fond of the word beautiful in a self-description, but he is beyond handsome, really beautiful!

  • Thanks so much for your lovely comment Bonnie. Very true about using the word beautiful…I prefer to use the word gorgeous…he’s happier with that description…lol
