What an exciting month we’ve had. It’s hard to believe that 12 months ago we sat down & talked about what would be important to the photomanipulators of RedBubble, nutted out a group charter, and launched our fantastic group. It’s been a fast and action packed year, and such a pleasure to celebrate our Birthday this month. Here’s what we got up to.

Here in Australia we’re 2 days from what is the coldest month for many of us & though it’s still winter we’re starting to see those lovely first buds of spring beginning to shoot which tells us that the warmth is not too far away. For the rest of you it’s hopefully been a lovely Summer & perhaps you’re starting to see the first leaves of Fall starting to turn…..maybe.

Just in case you may have missed it, a new group has started up.

For those who have not had much or in fact any experience with the Lens Reversal Technique I have to say, it’s quite fun and can be creative. You don’t have to venture far from your home to get some cool shots and it can be done without spending money on fancy expensive lenses.

When I tried out this technique several months ago, it was purely experimental. I read about it in a local (Aust) photographic magazine, and thought it would be cool to try. This method has been described as the ‘poors man’s macro’. Personally I’m finding it more than that. The very shallow depth of field is amazing and you can become quite creative using it.

I’ve been asked to take some shots for a local real esate agent. Problem is that the only lens that I have that may be suitable is the EFS 17-85mm lens. I have read somewhere that this lens is considered by some to be a wide angle. I’m not too sure if this is true. I know a 10-22mm wide angle would be perfect (something that I still don’t have in my kit) but I’d like to get the opinion of others here.
