Young stallion shot at Return to Freedom, a wild horse sanctaury, in Lompoc California USA at about 7:30 am.

This image was shot in an area affectionately referred to as the “hill pasture”.

Post processing done using Photshop and OnOneSoftware: added a Monet overlay and some HDR effects.

    This poor fellow looks beaten up and very poor…It is a sad photo for me…

  • No worries Helen….he wasn’t beaten up…..just very dirty!!!! They had just had a lot of rain and all the horses had been rolling in the mud and dirt….some of the dirt in the area is very clay like and sticks to their bodies for hours!!
