Nikon D200 body. Sigma 150-500mm lens.

Sutter, ambassador stallion, at Return to Freedom (a wild horse sanctuary) in Lompoc, California, US.

This image of Sutter was shot late in the afternoon as the sun was setting, it was low in the sky and created rich and warm lightling and a warm atmosphere.

Post processing done using Photoshop CS4.

    Wonderful, Sue. I live in Lompoc and never heard of the sanctuary. I’d love to know more. You have a terrific portfolio – your people – your niece the budding cowgirl – all just great shots! Also, contrats on your features for this shot of sutter.

    I will be at Return to Freedom the first week of June. The sanctaury is nestled away up in the hills about a 10-15 minutes drive outside of town….and only minutes from the coast on Jalama Road off Hwy 1. Every year I visit the sanctaury and stay in Lompoc and you are not alone about not knowing it is there!!! Neda loves visitors so you would be welcome there any time!!!!!
