This image is a collaboration with George Lenz.

“George Lenz” :

I did the easy part…I shot the original image and George did all the heavy lifting to make this the magnificent image that it is. With many many many thanks George!

The stallion in the image is Chief…a magnificent stallion and ambassador at Return to Freedom, Wild Horse Sanctaury, in Lompoc California.

Magnificent image. You both did an awesome job. I was just in Lompoc a couple of weeks ago. We spent about a week there. I didn’t know there was a wild horse sanctuary there. Is it open to the public?

  • Thank you so much Carol…much appreciated! The sanctaury is alittle off the beaten track and is off the main highway into Lompoc going towards the beach. It is about a 15 min drive east of Lompoc. it is open to the public by appt only. Neda DeMayo and her family own the sanctaury and are heavily involved in preserving the wild horses of America. If you get a chance to go…please take it…Neda and the sanctuary are amazing!!!!
