This image is of one of the ambassador stallions, Chief, and his mares at Return to Freedom, a wild horse sanctaury, located in Lompoc, California, U.S. This image was shot mid afternoon in May 2009.
Chief is a handsome and magnificent stallion! Chief and his mares were running around their living area….they were very wary of us 4 leggeds with cameras! The view of them running around us was a truly beautiful sight to behold….feet were flying, hooves thundering over the ground, manes were flowing, and noses snorting….such beautiful, stunning and captivating freedom of movement!
