the bravery of being out of range
“War is old men talking and young men dying”
Odysseus, Troy [the movie]
Even if you didn’t like the movie; that’s a quote worth remembering. The t-shirt you see here has taken that quote; mixed it up with Danny’s theme to get:
1. A mushroom cloud of the nuclear variety.
2. The Pentagon, where the old men talk.
3. An F-117 Stealth Bomber, always out of range.
These all combine to make a skull [which I told Lucan I’d never use on a t-shirt … but now I have … sort of].
If you think it doesn’t need the text, comment or send me a bubblemail, I have a version waiting in the wings without it.

The pentagon in the eye is a nice touch. Very well thought out and executed.
Belinda Leopold
Very clever…..very confronting :)

Thank you ladies. Now off to bed – it’s almost 2am you know.

Oh I know :D

Oh fuck me, this is good, yes very, very good. Extremely good in fact. Oh you get the point.
The Stealth nose is genius. A reminder of the lunacy from Gulf War One, invisible to a radar due to cool paint, unless it rained. Aha.
Undecided about text. Oddly I don’t mind it too much, but normally I like the text to be doing something, integrated in some way.
See what the others think.
Danny
Oh the evolution of sjem continues
this is your best yet
I cannot praise this high enough.
Am I allowed to favour it thrice?
Danny
Hey sjem
do a wall art for the detail aspect
Scott and I did it really helps people see the fine detail
I LOVE THIS
kathleen

Good feedback Lucan cheers.
Following Danny’s fine suggestion; I have added a wall art version sans text.
Danny, I downloaded the track from iTunes and listened to it over and over again whilst finishing this off, it’s a great track and it’s an even better challenge. Thanks.
Another bit of simmering redbubble collective unconscious eh kathleen ?
Leese

SMITE THE EVOOOOL DOERS!
Scott Robinson
God damn genious..Nothing else i can think of sums this up.
The whole image is like a map of iconography, all leaving its trail to a bigger picture,.
The text though, I`m not so fond of, I like what it says, but it has a metallica ” ride the lightning” feel about it for me.
Damn Genious i tell you.

Thanks for the feedback all. Much appreciated.
Scott I had to google the metallica reference (!) and I see where your coming from, I think I’ll take on board your thoughts and blend them with Lucan’s to see what I gets …
davecurtain
just saw this herr sjem
at the risk of sounding derivative from the comments above, sensational work
agree with scott’s ride the lightning reference although perhaps more “master of puppets” for the macabre theme
quite enjoying the affro-esque mushroom cloud also
by the way your tell tale heart t finally arrived, came up great
did a draft of that short also, hopefully get it to you soon
Colin Wells
Powerful stuff. Well done
sjem ©
Thank you both.
toxteth, I’m glad that the Poe shirt worked out for you.

H M Bascom

Vainglorious are the dead and dying
Pitched into the hole by old
Dead men talking very bold
Blood and guts puffing cigars sighing
Number the numbers need more young ones
To make the statement war is won
By those that lead and those that follow
War is just a business death to every one
By those that lead and those that follow
Great graphic!
Gregory John O...
Great work !!!
