“OUT OF THE INDIAN APPROACH TO LIFE,
THERE CAME A GREAT FREEDOM,
AS WELL AS AN INTENSE AND ABSORBING RESPECT FOR LIFE,
WHICH ENRICHED FAITH AND PRINCIPLES OF TRUTH HONESTY GENEROSITY, EQUITY AND BROTHERHOOD”
Black Elk Oglala, Sioux Holy Man
This is at the Petrified Forest (National park) in Arizona. It is truly amazing to see the ancient trees that have transformed over millions of years into beautiful and colourful rock. Some of the tree/rock had quartz crystals embedded in them at one time, but sadly, over the years people have taken them and just left holes in the rocks. I call it the ‘greed gene’ when nature is exploited for self serving reasons.
