“Do you see how every little breath of wind
that sighed against the shore, was written down?
The record of the weeping skies is brought to light;
and now that which is hidden is revealed.
He who has written these down on the tables of stone
must have recorded the tears which fall on the earth,
and which to many, are unknown”
SABINE BARING-GOULD (from his book ‘The Mystery of Suffering’)
This is Hound Tor in Dartmoor National Park Devon, England) where there are lots of Tors and ancient sites. It is an enchanting, historic place in Devon, England. My great grandfather loved Dartmoor; he lived in Lewdown at a place called Lew Trenchard where he wrote the hymn ‘Onward Christian Soldiers’ as well as many books – his name was Sabine Baring-Gould. I like to think that he understood many things on a deep level, which scientists are now discovering even more, through the science, technology and research into the geological formation and rocks.
