nothing is lasting,
nothing stays forever,
so come and sit on my porch
as we are here on borrowed time.
View towards the remaining beachfront houses at the North end of Rodanthe from the house Green Lantern Light.
Wonderful beach house that we stayed in fall of 2010, with stood hurricane Irene, but ohwas she so lucky! The Inlet cut just behind her but still she stands with water in front and to the west…. The first house on the left on the ocean was lost to the hurricane, the house next to it is leaning terribly, the next house has damage also. Then what you cant see is right next to the porch you are on the damage to the houses beside it.
I knew that when I captured this image, as with life, that we are all here on borrowed time, I just did not realize how quickly of a reality that statement was..
