This image appeared in Color Magazine’s November 2009 Portfolio Issue (pg 198-199) and was one of three receiving Honorable Mention for that year’s contest.
Inspiration seems to be lacking recently, and I believe it has much to do with the rapidly advancing pace of technology. At some point, I have to face the grim facts and upgrade my camera and equipment….but the financial aspect of that is not too appealing at the moment, given the global economic situation….
So, I’m going back into the archives, and re-working images from the past with new image-editing equipment. That is not to say that the old images will be radically re-edited; rather, I’ll be reducing the noise in those images in an effort to allow bigger prints to be reproduced. It’s amazing how far noise reduction technology has come in the four-plus years since I bought my Pentax K10D.
As a side note, if anyone has any real-life experience/feedback with newer low-noise, high-ISO (perhaps full frame?) affordable DSLR’s, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping to stay with Pentax, as I have five lenses I could continue to use, but if there is a way to get better quality, larger size photos with an affordable higher-end camera, I could be persuaded to jump brands.
Thanks everyone, and have a great day!
