“Unknown Soldier” was featured in HORRORAMAI have been an artist all my life from drawing tractors at 4 to robots and ninjas age 9 and then on to the srious stuff at 13 I have always been drawing at some stage or another .In 1997 I attended Scoil Stiofain Naoife age 17 a college prep course where I studied the appreciation of fine art and all the disciplines. In 1998-99 I studied animation for a year in Ballyfermot but realised that it was not the way to go for me so I went back to Art College in 1999.I studied at Limerick School of Art and Design from sep 1999-2003 achieving my degree and diploma there and had exhibitions for the LSAD print auctions as well as my Degree and Diploma exhibits, I also printed work for the artist Kieran Cashel.
In 2003 I joined the Limerick Printmakers and remained there as a fulltime member until 2006 .Whilst there I was in the Summer and winter exhibitions and was one of the artists featured in the unframed exhibition specially picked by LSAD tuthor Mike Fox.I was also part of the box sets for Christmas each year and was lucky to have printed a set of prints created by renowned Irish artist Charles Harper .In 2005 me and a group of friends exhibited in Venues throughout cork and Tipperary in Ireland as part of the group we created A.K.A which featured in local media circles.
2006 -2007 was a year of travel as I had grown tired of working in factories in Ireland and wanted to see the world so I went to live for a while in NZ,OZ and was a teacher for 3 months in Thailand taking in USA and Signapore,Fiji along the way before moving to South Korea in 2007.I remained in South Korea for almost 4 years teaching English and had exhibitions in Bundeong Seoul ,the Yongsan art center Seoul ,gallery Jay and a number of exhibitions in Jeonju city.In 2009 I had work in an exhibition in NewYork at the APW gallery and donated images to the Drawing Dreams foundation in Berkley California. Most of my exhibitions in Korea took place in the latter stages of 2010 and culinated in an online solo exhibit with the IAC International Artists of Korea .I also was featured in an article in the Korean Times and in Speakeasy a multicultural magazine in Korea.
Since then I have returned home to Ireland and have been finding my feet here again but still had time to build a studio at home and take part in exhibits in Cobh Arts Center Cork and the Jam Art factory in Dublin city as well as have a solo exhibition in Fermoy Co.Cork.These days I spend looking for work so I can get a place of my own as well as looking for love hahah as I am on my own again as well as creating work for a sketchbook project based in Brooklyn NewYork and looking for more oppurtunities to exhibit my work.
