Artist's Description

A tartan ribbon tied in a bow was the subject of the world’s first colour photograph way back in 1861 when a practical demonstration of colour separation was carried out by Edinburgh born physicist James Clerk Maxwell.
I stumbled across this tartan ribbon tied to a tree at Glenfinnan in the Scottish Highlands. It’s my humble homage to Clerk Maxwell and his contribution to the wonderful world of photography.
I’ve added a Royal Stewart tartan border and the words For Auld Lang Syne, the song by Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns that’s sung the world over every New Year.
