Artist's Description

A photograph of the whitewashed stone cottage belonging to the Ladies Scottish Climbing Club that nestles at the foot of Meall a Bhuird on Rannoch Moor, at the gateway to Glen Coe, Scotland, UK. The home to the all-women’s climbing club was founded in 1908. In the background is the iconic Buachaille Etive Mòr, a mountain at the head of Glen Etive that is one of the most photographed places in Scotland. I’ve superimposed images of two plants growing near the cottage on the day I visited Glencoe. The delicate white bog cotton was everywhere and there was a pink dog rose plant at the entrance gate to the cottage. The English translation of Buachaille Etive Mòr is ‘Great Shepherd of Glen Etive.’
