I cant tell ya....how good the bleeding shelf feels

Some days I dust off the shelf of turn back time
it feels good for the soul….
stuck on repeat …repeat
the taste of strawberry wine
turns my heart to a sweeter place

a place of understanding nought
just a place of need…
settling on the shelf comfortably
knotted and weary….

uplifting my spirit
I gaze with melancholy
at the shiny, polished newness
of the shelf….

I reach out with longing
for it’s reflection mirrors
my bleeding soul
or maybe not….

I catch a glimpse
amazed by the unconditional love
shuffled with heart’s blood and dealt out
to my open wounds on the table

I right myself …
all dusty and forlorn
with yesterdays memories
and tomorrows regrets

I can feel your presence
dancing beside me
oh yes I sit proudly
on the bleeding shelf

I remember
how truly blessed I am
to have had you in my life
as your memory sits gently
beside me ……in spirit

Your last verse sums life up for many of us…and if that is the most we can be ‘left’ with, well, we are indeed blessed.

How lovely you have expressed your shelf. The memories, the longing, the yesteryears and the “now what do I do without you?”. You have me in tears my sweet dear friend, for my shelf is shining brightly with so much touching and trying to catch the dust that remains and the dust that is already has started its taletell sign coming down a downful.
    Love ya so much
