ABOUT ME

I’ll give you all the time in the world if you have time to read ‘about me’.

My name is Simon but to a lot of people I’m ‘Dimes’ and you have no idea how much I love people calling me by my nickname.

13th November is a day you should remember, because without it in 1982 I wouldn’t be here.

I have been often told that I look like the lead guy from Sum 41 and Shane West. Ok, if you say so?

I grew up and currently reside in the Sutherland Shire, Sydney. Who could ever debate that Australia is one of the most amazingly beautiful, free and lucky countries of the world?

I’ve wanted to travel to Canada my whole life. So photogenic.

Although I finished my school life, I don’t consider it was about the education most people believe it is. Since leaving, the last few years has been a real eye opener to what ‘real’ friends are.

One amazing thing about my life is my career in the events industry. I wouldn’t call it lucky, I have worked extremely hard and have been in the industry for 10 years which is a LOT for someone who is my age. If I can offer advice to anyone wanting to do as well as I have, it all comes down to your attitude, your initiative, and a realisation that your dreams can come true. I have worked on events with audiences from 2 people to over 4 million.

I am an active member of the NSW Rural Fire Service and will never regret joining such a volunteer organistaion.

I don’t believe in relationships for materialistic value. I guess you could say I’m one of those sensitive new age guys. I won’t love someone unless they are my best friend first. And the same goes with friendships. I won’t be you’re friend just to be another number. I only value friendships that are 2 sided.

I don’t want to be rich, I just want to be happy and be known for making a difference in this world. I have always dreamed of being Young Australian of the Year.

If you’re a musician, then I am jealous of you. I’ve always wanted to play guitar but I only know A and D.

Since launch date of the Canon EOS 400D I have been dabbling at amateur photography. I shoot with a Canon EOS 400D Digital SLR and use Canon Accessories. I also use Manfrotto Tripods, SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash Memory Cards, and Lowepro Camera Bags. I am a regular reader and active subscriber to Australian Photography Magazine. I believe in creating photography in the camera, not on a computer.

In marketing terms I’m an ‘early adoptor’, I always like to have the latest gizmos.

I have faith, but like most people I have trouble following it.
