All macro shots of some of the wildflowers I found last spring.
I took about 350 shots all up and still haven’t gone through them all (1 year later).
The top row is some orchids I found and the other rows are just some favourites – I like the wildflowers that are like little amazing sculptures by nature. Interesting forms and colours.
Most of KI’s wildflowers are so tiny that people never really see them when travelling here. They just see a splash of yellow or purple along the roadside. These images were taken in macro and exhibited at the Kangaroo Island Art Festival of Oct 2008. I exhibited these as prints at Andermel Marron Cafe in our exhibit called “Feast of the Senses”, and spoke to viewers about how tiny the flowers were. Most said they were going to stop next time they saw some flowers and have a closer look. ^^ They are just so amazing and varied, and deserve their close ups!
I hope to do more flower charts to make available as posters. This is 12×18in format.
