A trip to the local supermarket,
Which was small but even large at the same time.
Things placed in high places and in a row,
It seemed to encase the view,
Oh where is the milk? I wish I knew!
After filling our basket with books, eats and drinks,
Off now to the cashier me-thinks.
What a shock no waiting at the till,
I plied my Spanish on the young Senorita,
It was not that good, in fact it died!
“Buenos Notches” is what I said,
What a perfect fool I thought,
Your daft in the head!
The young Senorita politely smiled,
Then shown me the error of my ways,
By correcting my Spanish dialogue,
I did leave the shop in a daze!
What a nice young lady,
To have spent a little time with me,
So as not for me to forget!
I shall always remember that,
In the mornings it is Buenos Dias,
And not Buenos Notches which is the evening,
Without so much of a regret, I shall certainly not forget!
