In That Early Morning Time

Inspired by a picture (“Stream of Sunlight”) by Jonathan Sloat.

Whispers are sighing
In that early morning time.
The trees are swaying
To this subtle song,
A slow dance
In that early morning time.

The leaves flutter like birds
Longing to fly free.
In that early morning time,
The light glitters on hidden pools
And falls in silky rays
Down through the canopy of green
To banish the last night shadows
And paint gold designs on the forest floor.

Yes, it’s early morning time
And already the trees are dancing
In this morning wind,
Singing their ode to morning,
Singing their joy to the day.

I can definitely see it in my mind. I can hear the birds singing as the whole area rings with the waking up of God’s creation on that morning! It puts in my mind my picture and so much more!
