I just realized what put me in mind of Balthus, it’s the boy in your Toy Box, his straight arms and legs, his innocent but maybe not so innocent expression. See the male figure in Balthus’s “Le passage du Commerce Saint-Andre,” and the boy in “The Street.” ... My daughter, who’s a college student, will be studying in Capetown this winter and spring. Should I recommend she visit Durban also?
